T Enami Stereoview

I'm really digging these photo's from T. Enami (1859-1929) depicting life in Meiji-period Japan using 3D stereoviews. That's Enami-san ruling in the samurai armor.

R.I.P Christian Poveda

Christian Poveda made a documentary about MS13, then was found shot through the head in the front seat of a car.. Poveda had made himself a marked man, thanks to his film La Vida Loca (Crazy Life),how he managed to get inside enough to produce his first film was remarkable. A film director who paid for his art with his life.

VCJ

Vernon Courtland Johnson's artwork is known to almost everyone i know. Along with Wes and Jim Phillips, VCJ made up the unholy alliance of epic skateboard artists that has burned into my brain forever. VCJ's iconic artwork for powell peralta during the 80's defined a generation and set the guidelines for skateboarding art until this day. What i find strange is that his name isnt overly well known amongst the art scene today... who knows, such is life.

Usugrow

I bumped into Usugrow today down in Harajuku today, super cool guy that just happens to be one of my all time favourite illustrators. His style speaks for itself.

Dopamine

The best surf ad campaign i've seen in years, if ever. "Dopamine" for Insight by photographer Dustin Humphrey, fusing art & surf photography with perfect timing and/or patience. Its cool to think up ideas like this but to actually execute them takes solid ability.

Futureprimitive

Im really feeling Neil Krug's photographs, they feel like they're straight out of the Hawaiian sixties and make you feel warm and fuzzy, ..and what's not to love about naked supermodel's on horseback.

Ryohei Hase

Ryohei Hase's work is incredibly well painted, strangely enough it's all done in photoshop as it looks like it was done in oil on Belgian linen. Fine art in a digital era, definitely one to watch.
