Marchante!

I stumbled upon this Sam Flores / SANER Collabo in La Condesa, Mexico City. It looked amazing & I expected to walk into an Adidas shop or some hipster gallery but it was an old school bodega with fruit & vegetables, it added to the charm tenfold. Big ups to elaboratorio for making it happen.

Lucha Libre

I was lucky enough to see Lucha Libre at 'Arena Mexico' in Mexico City last Friday night, Mistico was a motherfucking rockstar!! The kid had ridiculous skills.

Off the Wahl

Its almost embarrassing to be working out of the same city as such amazing talent as Chris Wahl, a highly versatile commerical illustrator that throws down in equally in 3D, His blog has some cool walkthrough vids and you can buy some stuff here.

Quiet Riot

Way back in the late 80's I was caught in a small scale riot at a thrasher comp in the at "the Wall" carpark in Cronulla,
it was nothing compared to this, In 1986 the annual summertime OP Pro surfing contest in Huntington Beach, California descended into a full scale riot, burning cop cars & all, More pics and a full confessional at Blinders blog.

Locals only - No Valleys

Although not as well known as Glen E Freidman's pics of the era, Hugh Holland also discovered the emerging 70's LA
skates scene whilst driving up Laurel Canyon Boulevard one afternoon, and continued to photograph it for three years.

Ilk Ink

Everything ILK does looks like fun, even his corporate stuff looks like he was chilling out and doodling on a pencil case.

Original Samurai Choppers

The boys at ZERO Japan are producing vintage inspired old school straight up bad ass choppers. No gadgets or extra chrome just mean machines built for speed.

Diamond Backed

Strangely enough, here's another post featuring astronauts in random situations. From illustrator Raid71, his work is normally very retro folky, which i do like, but these BMX illo's are rad.

Aaron Horkey

Aaron has the kind of talent that makes me want to refuse to get out of bed in the morning, he's sickeningly good.
I was lucky enough to get one of his poster a few years back but these days most sell out before i can rub the morning sleep from my eyes. To lower my odds even further here's a link to the store.

INK the movie

Cartoon is a rockstar. This looks awesome.

oils aint oils

These paintings are amazing, Jeremy Geddes has mind boggling skill. completely photo real painting without the dry aftertaste. More work at his site.

Strictly for my Ninja's

My brother and i were obsessed with ninjas growing up, any movie with ninja in the title was on heavy rotation from the local video store, they werent the best kung fu flicks but they were the coolest shit in existence at that time for me.

Although technically he was a Ronin, there was plenty of ninja beatdown in Shogun Assasin (lone Wolf & Cub) it's still killer today. You might recognize samples from GZA's Liquid Sword Album.

Brooklyn Neighborhoods

I love these photo's of neighborhood store's in Brooklyn, its a rapidly dissapearing landscape. It seems modern design has killed off the signwriter and branding globalisation gentrify's everything that makes you feel at home, it's a crying shame.
These are from a show by Curators and photographers: James and Karla Murray, see more here

Hellcat combat

When i was 8 years old i many spent sleepless nights dreaming about some new mongoose BMX that i knew i was never going to be able to afford. These bikes kinda remind me of that feeling. The 'F131 Hellcat Combat' and 'B120 Wraith' from Confederate motor co look as cool and are as badass as their names suggest.

lowbrow lockdown

Japanese pin-stripers rule, on anything from happycats to bowling pins, Im digging the color on this Panther below "devil & Angel" from Ovalsix

Revolução

This is gnarly but i would expect it from São Paulo, kids dont mess around there. "A war between the Pixadores and the Graffiti Writers is about to explode in São Paulo..."
Last week a group of 30 Pixadores stormed the Choque Cultural Gallery in protest against the "marketing, institutionalization and domestication of Street Art" by the gallerys and media. Paintings by Gerald Laing, Speto, Titi Freak and others were all bombed.
